Micheal Hansen

Micheal Everett Hansen, age 82, passed at his home on September 12, 2024 from cancer.

Mike was born November 19, 1941, in Dupree, SD to Stanley and Elaine (Van Cleave) Hansen. Mike attended school in Faith, SD.

Mike served honorable in the United States Army and was stationed in France.

Mike married Billie Jean Petersen on February 10,1967, and to that union two sons were born. The couple lived and worked in the Dupree area until 1975 when they moved to Newcastle, WY.  In Newcastle they made their home for the next 49 years. Mike spent his lifetime behind the wheel of a truck.

Mike enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing with his sons, and he cherished spending time with his grandkids.

Mike is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Hansen of Newcastle, WY, his two sons, Micheal Shane (Dena) Hansen of Cheyenne, WY, and Chad Everett Hansen of Newcastle, WY. Four grandchildren, Cheyenne (Hank) Jones of Gillette, WY, Mikena Hansen of Denver, CO, Mikayh Hansen of Cheyenne, WY, Cimaron Hansen of Newcastle, WY, as well as four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his three sisters, Alta Leinen of Aberdeen, SD, Linda (Jimmy) Collins of Faith, SD, and Connie Burditt of Sturgis, SD.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Earl Hansen, and Wade Hansen and numerous other family members.

A remembrance was held September 21, 2024 at the Michael’s Room of the Senior Center in Newcastle, WY. Burial will be held at Black Hills  National Cemetery at a later date.
