Diane M. Conn

A Celebration of life for Diane M. Conn, 66, of Groton, SD, was held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home Fellowship Hall. Burial was held at Plainview Cemetery in Plainview, SD. Diane died Monday, February 26, 2024, at Avantara Groton. 

Diane M. Jordan was born on January 23, 1958, to Herman and Altha (Mitchell) Jordan in Sturgis, SD. She grew up on a ranch near Faith, SD. She attended country school and graduated from Faith High School. In High School, she was active in Cheerleading and Girls State. She moved to Aberdeen to attend Northern State University for a short time before she began working at 3M in 1978. While working at 3M she was part of the E- Squad. She did fire training in Duluth and Hutchinson, Minnesota and was proud of the fact that she rappelled down a wall! 

On August 15, 1981, Diane married Richard Conn in Aberdeen, SD. They continued to live in Aberdeen and raised four children. 

Diane was a crafty person. She was smart, quick witted, and funny. She was very selfless and caring and loved her family dearly. She was involved with her children and often created Halloween costumes and did Teacher for the Day. She enjoyed organizing and hosting parties, cooking, writing poems and watching Ice skating and Gymnastics. 

Grateful for having shared Diane’s life are her children: Dustin Conn, Jon (LeAnn) Conn, Alicia Conn, Sammi Conn-Ensaldo (Carlos Ensaldo); grandchildren: Jackson Conn, Cooper Conn, Briggs Conn, Gibson Ensaldo, Lennix Ensaldo, and Anderson Ensaldo; and siblings, Dan (Jayne) Jordan and Darlene Jordan. 

Preceding Diane in death are her husband, Richard Conn; parents, Herman and Altha Jordan; brother, Don Jordan,; and nephew, Ricky Jordan.
