Barbara Boyd

Barbara Ann Boyd, 72 years old, of Sturgis, S.D., passed away January 5, 2023, in Sioux Falls, S.D. after a brief illness. Her sister Vicki was by her side.  

Barb was born on January 25, 1950, to Clarence and Anna Marie Hullinger in Pierre, S.D. Barb was raised in Murdo, S.D. On April 22, 1982, Barb gave birth to her daughter Brittany Ann Boyd. Barb loved being a mother. 

Barb suffered an aneurysm and stroke in her 30s. After this she lived in Sturgis until her death. We would like to thank those caregivers who loved her at Sturgis Long Term Care Facility  and for taking care of her and even bringing her Taco John’s, as that was her favorite! 

Barb loved her music. She had her own way of singing and dancing from her chair. She especially loved it when Brittany would visit and play guitar for her. 

Barb is survived by her siblings Richard Hullinger, Eileen Kotz, Victoria Hullinger, Tim Hullinger and Lyn Hullinger, sister-in-law Bonnie Hullinger, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Brittany, brother Donald Hullinger, nephew Heath Hullinger, sister-in-law Earlene Hullinger, and brother-in -law Jim Kotz. 

Barb will be laid to rest with her daughter Brittany on September 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Murdo Cemetery with Father John Heying officiating.
