Marjorie Briggs

Marjorie Briggs, 91, of Midland, died Monday, August 6 at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital. Visitation will be 6-7pm, Friday, August 10 at Isburg Funeral Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, August 11 at Isburg Funeral Chapel with burial at Riverside Cemetery

Marjorie was born May 8, 1927 in Henry, SD to James and Anna (Peterson) Pickles. She grew up in Henry where she attended school before moving to Midland, SD and graduating from Midland High School.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Briggs in Philip, SD on May 31, 1954. They made their home in the Robbs Flat area where they farmed and ranched.  She continued to live there after Elmer’s death in 2004 until the time of her death. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, cats, reading and music.
Marjorie is survived by her children: Janet Briggs of Spearfish, Ed (Beth) Briggs of Midland, Jacque (Mark) Ritter of Dayton, MN and Lynn Briggs of Midland; grandchildren: Stephanie Ritter, Rochelle Ritter, Casey Briggs and Shane Briggs and dear friend Dee Briggs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, her parents and brothers Robert and Baden Pickles
