Kathleen Krank

Kathleen Ruth Krank, age 90, of Delton passed away on August 31st, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by family. 

She was born on September 4th, 1934, in Bixby, South Dakota, to Pauline (Sperle) and William Smith. She graduated from Bison High School and went on to attend college for teaching. She taught grade school before marrying on November 28th, 1953, to Bud Krank where they eventually built a life in Michigan, in the Hastings and Delton areas, over the course of their 55-year marriage. 

She loved playing cards, board games, puzzles, gardening, farming, crocheting, shuffleboard, pool, refurbishing buggies and gambling. Most of all, her family and friends.

Kathleen was proceeded in death by her parents, eight siblings, husband Bud, and two children: daughter Judy and son Terry. Kathleen is survived by her son Doug Krank and daughter Laurie (Craig) Wyman, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren to whom she was better known as “Granny.”

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 27th, 2025, in Hickory Corners at the American Legion Post 484.
