Harriet Sadie (Sherwood) Miller

Harriet Sadie (Sherwood) Miller was born July 2, 1921, in Draper, S.D., to Sidney W. Sherwood and Katherine J. (Traub) Sherwood.
She married Art Miller on September 21, 1941. To this union, three children were born: Janice (Dennis) Jensen, Sturgis, Marian Dalton, Sturgis, and Dennis (Vixie) Miller, Sheridan, Wyo.  Harriet has 10 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
Harriet and Art farmed and ranched until June of 1990, when they sold the farm and moved to Whitewood. They enjoyed several years of retirement, moving to Sturgis in 2000 to be closer to the nursing home where Art resided. After Art’s death in 2006, she moved to Janice Jensen’s home and lived there 11 years before entering the nursing home.
She was a faithful servant of the Lord and spent many hours reading her bible. She loved Sundays so she could go to church. Harriet was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sturgis.
Harriet went to be with Jesus on August 7, 2020. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandma, and friend.
Private family services were held Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with burial in Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
Harriet said, “My greatest desire for my family is for them to know the Lord.”
Memorials have been established to the United Methodist Church and to Northern Hills Hospice.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.kinkadefunerals .com.
