Gordon McGinnis

Gordon was born July 12, 1955 to Thelma (Day) and Roy C. McGinnis in Deadwood, South Dakota. He grew up on the family ranch at Faith, SD, moved to Sioux Falls in 1986, where he resided until his death June 18, 2022.
Gordon considered all he met as a friend. Although he may not have seen them for years, he recognized them and became animated. Vocal communication may have been an obstacle but he did not let this hinder him. He was able to work around that by using a picture booklet that contained 200 or more pictures. He became excited when shown pictures of trucks and pickups that relatives owned.
Some of his activities were; watching Wrestlemania on TV with his best friend and roommate, Handi-Riders (Horsepower); Miracle League Baseball, and summer camp.
Gordon loved animals, black horses being his favorite. He liked watching his Dad work, while sitting in the go-buggy that Dad built for him. Zelda had a team of black Percherons that pulled a hayrack with him in his wheelchair, surrounded by hay bales!
Gordon always had a smile for everyone.
He is survived by siblings, Clifford and Cal (Robin); Arlene (Ken) and Zelda (Paul), and Bonnie; numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Darrell; sister-in-law, Sheila; and his grandparents.
