Belva J. Searby

Belva Jean (Scholl) Searby went to heaven to be with her Lord Jesus on October 22, 2017, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
 
Belva Jean was born January 5, 1933, to Peter Fred and Esther Mae Scholl in Wanblee, S.D., where she grew up and attended grade school in her youth. 
 
Belva was united in marriage to Carl Glen Searby on March 17, 1951. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Colleen, Frank, Joyce, Glenda and Steve. 
 
They made their home in Crookston, Neb., for their married life. Later they moved to Pierre and then she moved to Kadoka in 1968, where she was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her time at the senior center playing bingo with her friends. She later moved to Rapid City and was a resident of the Golden Living Center.
 
Grateful for having shared her life are Colleen Kayser, Rapid City, Frank Searby, DuWeese, Neb., Joyce (Bill) Alexander, Pierre, Glenda Klarich (Joe), Sheboygan, Wis., and Steve Searby, Edgemont. Blessings in life were her grandchildren, Christa Roberts, Samantha Klarich and Krisana Jakeway, plus great-granchilden, Autumn Roberts, Delilah Spraino; Thrain and Rolind Kumley, and a host of other relatives and care workers.
 
Belva was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Goldie Carson; two brothers, Albert and Sol Scholl.
 
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
 
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain-McColley’s Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
