Andra Lorena Mangulis

Andra Lorena Mangulis, age 66, passed away March 21, 2018.

Andra was born May 26, 1952, along with her twin Astra, in Hastings, Neb., to Dr. George and Ilga Mangulis, who had immigrated from the country of Latvia. 

Shortly thereafter the family moved to Philip. A few years later along came sister Anita and brother George. 

Andra graduated from Philip High School with the Class of 1970. She received a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Augustana College, earned a degree in nuclear medicine technology from the University of Iowa, and a master of science in health administration from Drake University. Nuclear medical diagnostic imaging was her lifelong career while living in Des Moines and Minneapolis. 

She enjoyed bicycling, wallyball, skiing, U.S. and international travel, and crafts, especially beading. Andra was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at age 40.

A memorial will be held at the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colo., at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14.
