Scotties win one, lose one on the road

The Philip boys’ basketball team traveled to Fort Pierre to challenge the Stanley County Buffalos on Thursday, December 15. The challenge was answered, and was bested by only three points. Stanley County won 42-39.

Philip scorers were: Michael Westerberg 2, Casey Cuny 4, Casey Elshere 5, Nick Heeb 13, Dana Kerns 15.

Stanley County scorers included: Kip Cross 2, Paul Lind 5, Zach Alexander 9, Joseph Bourne 11, Trevor Lopour 13.

Three-point goals; Philip 1 (Kerns), Stanley County - 3 (Bourne).

Philip successfully rebounded 39 times (Elshere - 7); S.C. - 42 (Lopour - 13, Bourne - 11).

Philip had 18 turnovers, S.C. - 17. Total fouls: Philip - 18, S.C. - 17.

The "B" game also fell to Stanley County 34-20.

The next scheduled basketball game for the Scottie boys is at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, at Kadoka.
