Scotties prepare for Homecoming Week
Monday, October 4, begins the 2004-05 Philip High School Scottie Homecoming Week.
After a day of students wearing togas, the formal coronation will be held in the Fine Arts building at 7:30 p.m. The band will play and other musical selections will be part of the evening. Back after several years, a bonfire pep rally will light up the evening.
Tuesday has been declared a wacky-hair-or-hat day and rumor has it that the freshmen will win the day’s costume contest. The Scotties’ winning volleyball team is scheduled to play against the Golddiggers in Lead at 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday is dress-like-a-nerd day.
Though Thursday is grub-day, the volleyball team will display their polish and skill at Wall against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m.
Friday is the big day; orange and black clothing and the parade. School time will be shorted to let out at 1:15. Parade line-up will be at 1:30 and the “Cereals” parade will begin at 2:00. Everybody and their dog (Scottie) will be there.
Parents’ recognition takes place before the evening’s football game, which starts at 6:30 p.m. against the White River Tigers. After the game, the Haakon County Young Women will again sponsor the fundraiser dance in the Fine Arts building.
Saturday, Philip hosts a cross country meet at 10:00 a.m.
