Scotties lose to Timber Lake, 14-55
The Scotties had a good first quarter at the Timber Lake football game last Friday night, but the rest of the game was not as enjoyable.
Philip’s Dana Kerns ran for one yard to earn the first touchdown of the game, and the only touchdown of the first quarter. The extra point attempt failed.
The second quarter saw 35 points gained by Timber Lake. The third quarter saw eight more points for Philip, and six more points for Timber Lake. In the last quarter, Timber Lake gained another 14 points. The final score was 14 to 55.
The Scotties rushed 35 times for a total gain of 142 yards. Kerns ran five times for 39 yards, Ty Fees ran eight times for 30 yards, Alex Brech five times for 26, and Zane Fees four times for 18 yards.
Out of 11 pass attempts, five were completed; two to Brit Miller for 28 yards total and one to Jordan Smith for five yards.
Scottie kick-off returns were led by Nathan O’Dea with three for 42 yards total, John Hart with three for 30 yards, and Zane Fees once for 16 yards.
Ty Fees had nine tackles. Bo Slovek, Miller, and O’Dea each had eight tackles. Austin Bowen and Lincoln Smith each had one quarterback sack.
The Scotties’ homecoming game will be Friday, October 8, at 6:30 p.m. against White River.
