The junior high members of the Philip track and field team traveled to Lemmon, Friday, April 29, to compete in the Harold Severson Invitational Junior High Meet.

The Philip boys' team earned fifth place with a total score of 49 out of 17 events.

The other team results were: 1st - Faith, 140, 2nd - Grant County, 61, 3rd - Harding County, 59, 4th - Bison, 58, 6th - Timber Lake, 42, 7th - Union Center, 35.50, 8th - McIntosh, 34.50, 9th - Wakpala, 26, 10th - Bowman, 23, 11th - Lemmon, 22, 12th - Cheyenne Eagle Butte, 17, 13th - McLaughlin, 11, 14th - Little Eagle, 6.

The Philip girls' team earned second place with a total score of 61, also in 17 events. The other teams results were: 1st - Bowman, 198.50, 2nd (tie) - Harding County, 61, 4th Lemmon, 59, 5th - Union Center, 50.50, 6th - Faith, 46, 7th Timber Lake, 35, 8th - McIntosh, 24, 9th - McLaughlin, 22, 10th - Cheyenne Eagle Butte, 20, 11th - 19, 12th - Grant County, 14, 13th - Bison, 9, 14th - Little Eagle, 2.

"It was great to get in a meet for the junior high kids, as they have been practicing hard all year without any meets at their level," said Scottie head coach Tom Parquet.
