The Harry Weller Invitational in Kadoka on Tuesday, April 10, was such a cold, wet track and field meet that the last few events of the day were called off because of rain.

"We came home with a few medals," said Head Coach Jerry Rhodes. Those "few" medals included seven third places, five second places and two first places. The boys took first in the 4x100 relay and the girls took first in the 800 meter run.

"Even though it was cool, it was better than what we've been running in," said Rhodes. "We got a chance to run. For some of the athletes, it was their first meet of the season. We had a chance to see our full team compete.

"As far as conditioning, we've still got a long way to go to be ready for regions. Other schools also have some good athletes, so it's going to be a close race come region time," said Rhodes.
