Scottie boys win Newell Golf Invite

Philip atheletes competed at the Newell Invitational Golf Tournament on Friday, May 1.

In the boys' division, Philip took top honors with a total score of 288. Wall was three strokes behind with a 291. Lemmon totalled 306 to claim third and Newell shot 322 for fourth place.

Individually, Philip's Devon Ehlers earned third place with 45 on the front nine and 45 on the back nine for a total of 90. Teammate Caleb Clemets was right behind in fourth place with 47 and 46 for 93. Colten Nickelson shot 51 and 54 for 105, Jordan Hauk shot 54 and 54 for 108, Gavin Snook got 63 and 67 for 130 and Carl Poss shot 78 and 80 for 158.

Wall's Darick Eisenbraun received medalist honors with 37 and 42 for 79. To earn second place, Bison's Jefferey Johnson shot 45 and 42 for 87. Wall's Lane Hustead finished in fifth place with 47 and 48 for 95.

For the girls' teams, Bison took first place, led by Amanda Johnson, who shot a 42 and 41 for a day's total of 83. She beat out Newell's Jordan Trohkimoinen by one stroke, who shot 41 and 43 for an 84.

Individually, Philip's Tara Ravellette took third place with a 41 and 45 for an 18-hole total of 86. Wall golfers Shayla Johnson and Autumn Schulz took fourth and fifth respectively, both with the same scores of 50 and 51 for totals of 101.

The second place girls' team was Hill City with 320, seven strokes behind Bison's 313. Wall took third with 328 and Newell claimed fourth place with a team total of 338.
