Scottie boys go undefeated in regular golf season
The Philip boys’ varsity golf team went undefeated in the season with six tournament wins by taking the Black Hills Invitational on Monday, May 9th, and the Rocky Knolls on Thursday, May 5th.
Dak Carley put together two great tournaments. He shot a 71 at the Rocky Knolls in Custer – 38 on the front nine holes and 33 on the back nine. At the Black Hills Invitational, played at the Red Rock Golf Course in Rapid City, Carley shot an even 36 on the front nine and came back with a two under 34 on the back nine for a 70 total. Carley was the medalist at both meets.
The Philip boys won the Custer Invitational by two strokes over Custer with a 237. The boys shot a 247 at Red Rock to slip by St. Thomas Moore by one stroke.
The girls team finished sixth at Custer and fourth at the Black Hills Invitational. Tara Ravellette lead the Philip Scottie girls with a 102 at Custer and Sarah Foland was the low scorer at the Black Hills Invitational with a 100.
Individual scores for Philip boys at the Black Hills Invitational at Red Rock were: Dak Carley - 70 - first place; Fred Foland - 86 - sixth; Jordan Smith - 91 - 15th; Brit Miller - 93.
Individual scores for the Scottie girls at the Black Hills meet at Red Rock were: Sarah Foland - 100 - ninth; Tara Ravellette - 110; Ashley Berry - 120; Chelsea Parsons - 128.
All of the boys and girls will be at the Eagle Cup in Wall on Saturday, May 14, with a 9:00 a.m. start.
The Regional Tournament will be Monday, May 16th, at Red Rock in Rapid City to determine who goes to the State Tournament on May 23rd-24th. The top 15 girls go to state and the top 18 boys go to state. The top numbered teams will also will be going to state.
