Pre-Region Golf Tournament

The Philip Scottie golf teams competed in the Pre-Regional Golf Tournament at the Hart Ranch Golf Course near Rapid City on Monday, May 7.

Though the weather and course conditions were almost ideal, the competition among the 11 schools represented was harsh. The tournament is meant to show the competitors what practice they must do in preparation for the actual regional tournament on May 14.

In the boys division, Philip took fourth place as a team with a total score of 289. Individually, Caleb Clements shot a 91 to tie for sixth place. Jordan Smith earned 92 for ninth place. Allen Hauk had 106 to tie for 19th place. Kolby Longbrake shot 107 to earn 22nd.

Philip's girls' team tied for third place with a total score of 331. Individually, Tara Ravellette shot a 95 to claim fourth place. Abby Fitzgerald ended the day with a 109 for ninth place. Ashley Berry scored a 107 for 17th place.

The next meet for the Philip Scotties is a conference tournament in Murdo at the Murdo Golf Course on Friday, May 11.

The season's regional tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 14, at the Hart Ranch Golf Course near Rapid City. The state tournament will be on Monday and Tuesday, May 21 and 22, in Yankton.
