Philip's Mark Trask takes first place in Job Interview Leadership CDE at State FFA
Four hundred sixty-nine FFA members from across South Dakota met Sunday and Monday, December 2nd and 3rd, in Pierre for the State FFA Leadership Career Development Events.
FFA members and chapters were recognized for their success in 11 leadership areas. Members advanced to state level competition by placing first or second at their district competitions. Winning teams and individuals will advance and compete in their CDE areas at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN, next fall.
Gerri Ann Eide, SD FFA Executive Secretary, addressed the members and guests at the awards luncheon about how FFA has impacted her life since first joining as a freshman in high school.

The job interview CDE challenges members to complete a job application, write a letter of application and participate in an actual interview. The results were: Gold - Mark Trask, Philip, Gold - Abbie Settjie, Wilmot, Silver - Chelsey Abler, Hoven, Silver - Michael Swan, Wall.
In marketing plan competition, teams of students determine a local community need and create a complete strategy for marketing a new ag product or company to fix that problem. The results were: Gold - Beresford, Silver - Lennox-Sundstrom, Silver - Menno, Bronze - Viborg, Bronze - Philip.
Agribusiness salesmanship results were: Gold - Ty Littau, Winner, Gold - Calli Pritchard, Elkton, Silver - Cody Sunderland, Viborg, Silver - Samantha Nelson, Wall.
Other competition areas included parliamentary procedure, public speaking, extemporaneous speaking, creed speaking, Ag issues, Ag communications, Ag broadcasting-journalism and junior conduct of meetings.
