Philip women nominated for Spirit of Dakota
Twenty-one outstanding women from all corners of South Dakota will be honored at the prestigious Spirit of Dakota Award Banquet. This year's event is slated for Saturday, October 7, at the Huron Event Center at 7:00 p.m.
Nominees this year include Kay Ainslie and Jeanne Radway of Philip. Other nominees are: Marie Nash, Murdo; Darlene Andersen, Badger; Carole Boos, Edgemont; Kris Brockhoft, Winner; Donna Buche, Chamberlain; Nancy Burgess, Yankton; Marian Cramer, Bryant; Fern Droz and Susan Johannsen, Miller; Doris Fiedler, Springfield; Anissa Grambihler, Pierre; Barb Gross, Timber Lake; Frances (Peg) Lamont, Aberdeen; Marcella LeBeau, Eagle Butte; Janice Manolis, Huron; Nance Orsbon, Pierre; Shirley Overland, Custer; Mary Piper, Rapid City; Patricia Simmons, Sioux Falls.
An Art Show co-sponsored by the Huron Area Arts Council will be held in the pre-function lobby of the Event Center from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public. Watercolor artist Doug Dutenhoeffer of Huron will be displaying his work.
