Philip volleyball team loses to Dupree

The Philip Lady Scotties hosted the Dupree Lady Tigers, Saturday, October 1.

Philip lost the varsity match 1-3. Though the first game went to the Tigers 19-25, the Scotties came back to take the second game 25-17. The third game put Philip in a defensive position when Dupree took it 19-25 and had a 2-1 lead in the match. The fourth game looked like a possible tie-maker for the Scotties, but overtime play proved it to be a 26-28 win for the Tigers. Philip currently holds an 11-8 season record.

Showing a tremendous aptitude in the season's learning curve, the Philip junior varsity team forced a 2-1 match win over the Tiger's JV team. The 2-1 match included game scores of 25-21, 23-25 and 15-6. The Philip JV stands at 6-4 for the season.

The Philip "C" team completed their match the best of the Lady Scotties. They won 2-0, with game scores of 25-15 and 25-7. Their season record so far is 2-3.

The next competition for the Lady Scotties will be Thursday, October 6, with Philip hosting the Wall Lady Eagles, starting at 6:00 p.m. The match after that will be Saturday, October 8, at the New Underwood Triangular. On Thursday, October 13, the Scotties will host Lyman, starting at 5:30 p.m.
