Philip Scottie results at 2006 State Track and Field Meet

After the Lady Scotties won the Region 7B Track and Field Meet, the Philip girls and boys had a total of 13 athletes qualified for the State Track and Field Meet held in Rapid City on Friday and Saturday, May 26-27.

At the State meet, senior John Hart took first place in the pole vault with a height of 13’09”.

Junior Casey Elshere ran a time of 16.79 seconds to take 12th place in the preliminaries in the 110 meter hurdles. Elshere also took 13th place overall in the shot put with a distance of 42’01.75”.

Junior Alex Moos earned a ninth place at State with a discus throw of 129’04”.

Senior Jodi Williams claimed third place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.29 seconds in the finals. Williams also ran a 26.68 time to take 4th place in the 200 meter dash. She went on to earn a third place in the 400 with a time of 59.61.

Eighth grader Kenzy Pinney ran a time of 13.37 and took an 18th in the preliminaries in the 100 meter dash.

Freshman Kayla O’Connell ran a 53.17 time in the preliminaries for the 300 meter hurdles for a 15th place there.

Sophomore Tylissa Fitch took 17th place in the 800 with a time of 2:33.13.

Dondee Fees qualified at regionals to compete at the state meet in the pole vault.

Philip’s 4x800 meter relay team of Tylissa Fitch, senior Sarah Albrecht, 7th grader Molly Coyle and Kayla O’Connell ran a time of 10:57.57 to take 15th place.

The Philip Scottie 4x400 meter relay team placed 18th in the preliminaries with a time of 4:30.01. The 4x100 meter relay team had also qualified during the season to go to the state meet.
