The Philip Lady Scotties traveled to New Underwood on Thursday, January 7, to challenge the Tigers. The Scotties returned victorious with a 42-39 win.

The game began with a quick basket by the New Underwood Lady Tigers over the number 10 Philip Lady Scotties. Philip's Marissa Mann answered back on the Scotties' next trip down the court. The Scotties lead by four points at the end of the first quarter, though earned only two points in the second quarter. In the second half, Philip regained the lead and the momentum to finish with a three point margin over New Underwood.

During the game, each team rallied back and forth, strategically finding the net for their team when it mattered. After intense play, both teams zeroed in on the final minutes, which included time-outs, penalty shots and intense action until the final buzzer. On backdoor plays by the Scottie team, Kenzy Pinney consistently scored the basket for Philip throughout the night.
