Philip Lady Scotties defeat Wall Eagles 3-1

The Lady Scotties hosted the Wall Eagles for their last regular season volleyball match on Thursday, October 30.

The Eagles won the first game 18-25. This was one of very few game losses for the Scotties, who now have a season record of 27-3 and a history this year of not losing a single game to their opponents during a match. In the second game, Philip came back with a vengence. The score was 16-0 before Wall could even get on the scoreboard. That game ended 25-8, with the next two finishing 25-20 and 25-16. The Scotties won the match 3-1.

The Philip junior varsity team swept away Wall with a match of 2-0. Game scores were 25-11 and 25-17.

The District 13B play began on Tuesday, November 4, and continues Thursday, November 6, in Murdo. White River is the top seeded district team, with Philip in second, Jones County third, Kadoka Area fourth and Crazy Horse fifth. Crazy Horse and Kadoka Area will compete in the first round, while the others receive a bye. After a 20 minute rest, the first round winner will go up against White River. Philip will

play Jones County. The two winning teams will face off on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., again in Murdo.

The State "B" Volleyball Tournament will be in Rapid City this year on Thursday through Saturday, November 20 through 22.
