Philip FFA competes at District V Leadership CDEs

On November 17, 25 Philip FFA members competed at the District 5 Leadership Career Development Events.

Philip competed against Lemmon, Bison, Sturgis, Rapid City, Harding County, Wall, New Underwood, Faith and Newell. Trey DeJong, Wyatt Johnson, Dusti Berry, Jace Scofeild, Allen Piroutek, Tanner Radway, and Kyle Shulz competed in Junior Parliamentary Procedure and took third place.

Lisa Papousek, Tomilyn Trask, Ty Cantrell, Austin O'Dea and Josie Guptill competed in Ag- communications and took second place.

Caleb Clements, Carissa Doolittle and Mick Trask competed in marketing plan and took first place.

Sam Haigh and Colter Cvach competed in Creed speaking; Cvach took third place and Haigh took sixth place.

Loni Nelson placed sixth and Clint Nelson placed eighth in Ag Sales.

Public speaking was Grace Schnabel and Danielle Piroutek. Schnabel placed fifth and Piroutek placing sixth.

Colter Cvach took fourth and Jade Konst took 12th in Ag broadcasting.

Competing for job interview were Tawnie DeJong and Ryan Kammerer. DeJong placed second, and Kammerer placed 10th.

Teams that placed in the top two advanced to state and individuals placing in the top three advance to state. Teams that advanced to state on December 7 and 8 are Ag communications and Ag marketing. Individuals who advanced are Tawnie DeJong and Colter Cvach.

At the State Leadership CDE, Philip's Ag marketing plan team earned first place. Trask, Doolittle and Clements will now compete at the national level.
