In an away basketball game on Friday, February 12, the Philip Scotties fell to the Lyman Raiders. The final score was 49-52.
The game had relatively equal scoring by both teams in the first three quarters of the game. The first quarter ended in a 14-14 tie. By half-time, Philip had taken the lead by only one point. The third quarter ended in another tie, 40 all. Not until the fourth quarter did the scoring vary. Lyman kept up its low-teens score, while Philip fell back to a single digit. In the end, three points separated the winner from the loser.
"Lyman is one of the better teams we have played so far," said head coach Mike Baer. "So, we came into this game looking to see how much we have improved. Overall we played well and gave ourselves a chance to win at the end. We have a couple guys just back off of injury and they are still playing timid, but it's nice to have them back so they'll be ready to go at districts."
