Orlando A. Drageset

Orlando Drageset, age 82, of Philip, died Saturday evening, December 4, 2004, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.

Visitation was held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Thursday.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 9, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Philip, with Pastor Robert Oettel officiating.

Music was provided by Lyndy Ireland and Joyce Wheeler. Ushers were Dean and Dave Fitzgerald. Pallbearers were Randy Martin, Jeff Penticoff, Jim Bouman, Don Walker, Donnie Fees and Rick Thorson.

Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery, Philip. Rush Funeral Home of Philip was in charge of the arrangements.

Orlando Albert Drageset was born May 1, 1922, in Isabel, SD, the son of Einar and Agnetta (Endahl) Drageset. He grew up on the family farm and continued his life in Isabel until moving to Philip in 1974. He worked at Scotchman Industries for many years until his retirement.

Grateful for having shared his life include his wife of 29 years, Kathryn "Katy" Drageset of Philip; one son, Darrell Drageset and his wife, Carla, of Thermopolis, WY; his step-children: Cathy Fiedler and her husband, Ralph, of Sturgis, Jeanette Potts of Oregon, Bruce Barnett and his wife, Sharon, of Wall, Diana Stewart and her husband, Richard, of Philip, and Sandy Slovek and her husband, Doug, of Broadus, MT; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Stella Opsahl and her husband, John, of Mobridge, SD; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Orlando was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ole and Adolph; three sisters, Esther Miller, Agnes Volden, and Myrtle Waddell; and one grandson, Michael Slovek.

A memorial has been established.
