Mavis I. Neiderworder

Mavis Isabel Neiderworder, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Bella Vista Nursing Home in Rapid City, SD.

Mavis was born April 21, 1921, to Paul and Miriam Griesel.

She married Morris Neiderworder on Oct. 19, 1942. For most of their married life they lived on a ranch northeast of Philip, SD, where they raised seven children.

In 1971, they moved to Hermosa, and several years later they moved just outside of Rapid City.

Mavis was a faithful member and servant of Faith Lutheran Church in Rapid City. She was a member of Altar Guild and Martha Circle for many years. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family for her great hospitality and ease of conversation. Mavis never knew a stranger!

Mavis is survived by her children, Karen Bauman, Rapid City, Sharon Weimer, Aurora, CO, Larry Neiderworder, Philip, Garry Neiderworder, Rapid City, Marie Nuttle, Rapid City, Mary Miller, New Underwood, and Chuck Neiderworder, Aurora, CO; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Edith Herber, Rapid City, Pauline Griesel, Rapid City, Rosemary Greeno, Sioux Falls, and Etta Maude Erdmann, Philip; two brothers, Ben Griesel, Augusta, GA, and Jack Griesel, Philip.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morris, and both parents, Paul & Miriam.

A memorial has been established to benefit the “24-Carat Team”, Bella Vista Nursing Home. These proceeds go toward the purchase of gifts for all the residents of the home at Christmas time.

Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, at the Fountain Springs Community Church; burial will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park.
