Mary Alice Reiman
Mary Alice Reiman was born to Claude and Verna (Lawrence) Van Driel in Sioux Falls, SD, on March 1, 1956. She was received as a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on April 15, 1956, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN. She was confirmed in the Christian faith on Oct. 31, 1971, also at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Mary passed through death to life with Christ forever on December 26, 2005, at the age of 49 years, nine months and 25 days.
Mary earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Alexandria Tech Institute and later earned a business degree from Worthington Community College.
On Sept. 8, 1979, she married Dale Reiman at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN.
She worked for Steve Betcher American Family Insurance Agency, Iowa City, IA.
Mary and her family joined Christ the King Lutheran Church in Iowa City on Nov. 15, 1994. She shared her strong faith at the church and her influence was abundant in her church community. She and Dale were foster parents. Mary was an amazing lady; she truly lived every day to the fullest. She was a Hawkeye fan, professional seamstress, and was most importantly a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, of Iowa City; two daughters, Moriah Reiman of Coralville, IA, and Danielle Reiman of Philadelphia, PA; her parents, Claude and Verna Van Driel of Luverne, MN; two sisters, Jayne Peterson and her husband, Ron, of St. Cloud, MN, and Bette Krause and her husband, Arthur, of Colorado Springs, CO; her mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Anice Reiman of Altoona, WI; two brothers-in-law, James Reiman and his wife, Dianne, of Eau Claire, WI, and Ryan Reiman and his wife, Libby of Prescott, AZ; and one sister-in-law, Susanne Baron and her husband, Duane, of Sauk Rapids, MN. She is also survived by a special foster son, Jawon Perry of Iowa City.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Van Driel.
