Marjorie Hosek, age 83, of Kadoka, S.D., died July 6, 2011, at the Kadoka Nursing Home.
Marjorie Deloris Bennett was born November 30, 1927, in Kadoka, the daughter of Fred M. and Ida L. (Schultz) Bennett. She attended grade school at Brady School in Jackson County prior to graduating from Philip High School. Marjorie then attended beauty school in Watertown and lived with her cousins, the Hackbart's while she was there.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Ben Hosek on August 14, 1948, in the Lutheran Church in Lake Andes, S.D. They lived at the Headlee Ranch after their marriage before moving to Geddes and later Mitchell.
Her husband, Ben, preceded her in death on April 22, 1995. In October 2008, Marjorie moved to the Kadoka Nursing Home, where she has since resided.
Survivors include her sister, Edith Perault of Kadoka; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Ben, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Magnus, Harvey, Orville and Donald, and one sister, Gladys Olson.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 8, at the Pleasant Lawn Cemetery in Geddes, with Pastor Jerry Troester officiating.
A memorial has been established.
