Linda J. Thomas
Linda J. Thomas, age 57, of Interior, died Friday, February 24, 2006, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 28, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wall with Father Leo Hausmann as celebrant and Father Ron Garry as con-celebrant.
Music was provided by Mary Erz, organist, Lisa Fisher, vocalist, and Daniel Green, guitarist.
Ushers were Jesse Baysinger and Casey Short Bull. Pallbearers were Larry Joe Lange, Willie, Tom, Tony and Allen Grimes, Wayne Barber and Brad Gartner. Honorary pallbearers were Linda’s nieces and nephews.
Interment was in the Wall Cemetery.
Linda J. Lange was born March 24, 1948, at Rapid City, the daughter of Willard and Agnes (McEwen) Lange. She grew up in Interior, graduating from Interior High School in 1966. She then graduated from the Medical and Dental Assistant School of Colorado in Denver, CO. After graduation she moved to Kadoka where she worked at the Kadoka Clinic and Hospital.
Linda was united in marriage to Paul Thomas on December 23, 1967, in Kadoka. They made their home on Paul's grandparents' ranch west of Wanblee. In 1992, she moved into Interior where she continued to reside until the time of her death.
Linda was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Interior, and also attended St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Wanblee.
She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, making many afghans over the years, and also enjoyed reading.
Grateful for having shared her life are her four sisters, Loretta White of Interior, Carol Wickstrom of Wall, Rita Barber and her husband, Barry, of Interior, and Shirley Gartner and her husband, Terry, of Interior; two brothers, Gary Lange of Sioux Falls, and Larry Lange of Interior; a brother-in-law, Lorence Grimes of Philip; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mary Lou Grimes.
A memorial has been established. Arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Chapel of Wall.
