LeRoy Dale Huber

LeRoy Dale Huber, 79, of Rapid City, passed away on Thurs., October 21, 2010, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

LeRoy was born June 24, 1931 at Akaska, S.D., to William and Augusta (Buechler) Huber. After graduating from Glenham High School he served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War.

He married Sylvia Ann Root on July 19, 1959 at Midland. He worked in road construction for 50 years, ending as general superintendent with Peter Keweit, based out of Omaha, while living in Rapid City.

He attended Faith Lutheran Church, was a member of VFW Post 1273 of Rapid City, and the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Huber of Rapid City; two daughters, Troy Huber and Denise Huber, both of Rapid City; three sons, Kevin Huber and Bill Huber, both of Rapid City and Wade (Dianne) Huber of Davenport, Iowa; and five grandchildren, Ty Huber, Danica Huber, Bailey Huber, Ethan Huber, all of Rapid City, and Morgan Huber of Davenport, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Augusta Huber.

Services were held on Tuesday, October 26, at Faith Lutheran Church in Rapid City with the Rev. Jeff Rohr officiating.

Burial with military honors was at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
