Lady Scotties take 4th in Philip Tourney
The Philip Lady Scotties held their annual Philip Volleyball Tournament, Saturday, September 10.
First, the eight teams competed in two pools of four teams each. Philip came out of three preliminary matches with a win over Jones County, a win over Lead/Deadwood and a loss to Harding County. Then in the championship bracket, the Lady Scotties lost to Belle Fourche and to Colome to come away with fourth place in the tournament.
Belle Fourche took first place, Harding County - second, Colome - third. Lead/Deadwood - fifth, Bennett County - sixth, Kadoka - seventh and Jones County - eighth.
Philip's Sayde Slovek and Josie Guptill were voted to be on the list of all-tournament outstanding players. The Philip varsity team currently holds a 5-4 win/loss season record.
