Lady Scotties fall to Edgemont 44-50
The Philip Lady Scotties basketball team hosted the Edgemont Moguls, Saturday, December 18.

The scoring at the beginning of the game stayed close. With less than two minutes remaining in the first quarter, the scoreboard showed a tied 7-7 score. After Philip scored a one-point foul shot, Edgemont sank a basket for the lead. Philip sank a basket to regain the lead, with only four seconds before the buzzer.
The Scotties led until the second quarter's 2:50 mark, when the Moguls again tied the score at 14-14. Edgemont sank a three pointer, and then the lead stayed theirs until the end of the game. As the first half ticked away, Philip could sink only two one-point foul shots, while Edgemont pulled away to a 16-25 advantage.
The second half saw a continuing of the point spread. The fourth quarter began 25-40. Though Philip began to shrink their opponent's lead, it was too little too late. Almost doubling the opposing points during the quarter still did not close the gap. The game ended 44-50.

The Lady Scotties played in Kadoka against the Lady Kougars, Tuesday, December 21. Their next game will be hosting the New Underwood Tigers Thursday, January 6. On January 8, the Philip girls will be in Dupree to challenge the Lady Tigers. They will be in Onida, January 11, to go against the Sully Butte Chargers. January 13 will be a home game versus the Kadoka Area Kougars.
