Lady Scotties end season in 2nd round of districts, hard 2-3 loss to Edgemont

The district volleyball match in Wall between the Philip Lady Scotties and the Edgemont Moguls began with a close set, and stayed close throughout.

After Philip completed its regular volleyball season with a 25-7 record, the Lady Scotties entered district play Tuesday, November 3, against the Rapid City Christian Comets. The match was almost too easy of a win for the Philip team, which kept the Comets in single digit numbers in all three sets.

The next match, Thursday, November 6, was a different story. Actually scoring more points in the match, Philip lost 2-3. With a first set loss of 21-25 and a second set loss of 22-25, the Lady Scotties rallied for an extended play win of 28-26. As is their habit after a lost set, the Scotties came back with a vengeance. To tie the match 2-2, they dominated the fourth set 25-12. The fifth and final set, which goes to only 15 points, was a season-ending loss of 11-15 for the Scotties.

Edgemont went on to challenge the Wall Eagles in Friday, November 6 play.
