Lady Scotties breeze by Dupree Tigers 51-28

The Philip High School girls' basketball team traveled to Dupree on Saturday, January 10 to challenge the Tigers. The Scotties came home easy winners with a final score of 51-28.

Philip secured the lead in the first quarter with 16 points and holding the Tigers to just five points. By half-time, Philip's score quadrupled Dupree's. The Scottie team used the second half to give court experience to many of its next year's starters. Philip coasted to a win of 51-28.

The junior varsity team also gained practical experience in competition, handily winning 40-18. The game began in almost straight defense, with the first quarter having only six points total scored between the two teams. Philip then picked up the pace and expanded their lead throughout the rest of the game.

The next game for the Lady Scotties was Philip at Onida against the Sully Buttes Chargers on Tuesday, January 13. After a long break, the following game will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, in Philip verses the Kadoka Kougars.
