John Mednansky, age 93, of Kadoka, died Sunday, May 08, 2005, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
John Mednansky was born March 10, 1912, in St. Lawrence, SD, the son of Mike and Emma (Michaletz) Mednansky. He grew up and received his education in that area.
Later he owned and operated a radio repair shop in Kadoka for several years before moving to Rapid City. He then purchased a radio/television repair shop in Belle Fourche. After selling the shop, he purchased another radio/ television shop in Missoula, MT. He then moved to California and worked in a factory, owned by Howard Hughes, as an engineer. John moved to Bisbee, AZ, to retire. He lived in Bisbee until he moved to the Gateway Apartments in Kadoka, to be closer to family. In 2004, he moved into the
Philip Nursing Home, where he has since resided.
Survivors include four brothers, Clarence Mednansky and his wife, May, of White River, SD, Art Mednansky and his wife, Edna, of Kadoka, Ervin "Bud" Mednansky of Bandera, TX, and Ed Mednansky and his wife, Pat, of Iowa Park, TX; three sisters, Clara Pearson of Madison, SD, Helen Boyd of Kadoka, and Gladys Lien of Volin, SD; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Albina Mowery, Evelyn and Alice Mednansky; a brother, Frank Mednansky; and a brother, Michael, and a sister, Elizabeth, in infancy.
