JoAnne (Burns) Boyle

JoAnne (Burns) Boyle was born in Philip, SD, on April 26, 1930, to Harry Burns and Bessie (Harvey) Burns. JoAnne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and treasured friend. She took the hand of Jesus on January 19, 2010, in Conroe, TX, at age 79.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bob Burns, and sister Janet Wellman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, Hugh Boyle; son, David Boyle; daughter, Janice Letbetter and husband, Phil; granddaughters, Lindsey Letbetter and Jamie Greer and husband, Kirk; great-grandson, Konnor Greer; sister, Carol Purrington, and numerous nieces and nephews.

JoAnne worked for the City of Lovington, NM, and left to have her first born David. She went back to work after 12 years at Lea County Electric Co-op in Lovington. Hugh and JoAnne resided in Lovington for 49 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Lovington and a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Huntsville, TX. She was involved with the Huntsville Newcomers, Huntsville Christian Women and Daughters of the King organizations.

She loved playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family was always the center of her life and she cared for each and every one of them with unselfish abandon. She supported her children and grandchildren in everything they attempted throughout their lives and rejoiced in each of their accomplishments. Regardless of the situation, JoAnne greeted everyone with a warm smile, and her life was a true testimony of her deep faith in the living God. She has claimed her reward in the "mansion He prepared for her" and will dwell in Heaven forever.

Memorial services were held Friday, January 22, 2010, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Huntsville, TX, with Father Jim Morgan and Rev. Reagan Cooksey officiating.
