Janice I. Parker

Janis Parker, age 51, of Rapid City, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at her home, surrounded by family and a special friend.

Janis Irene Gebes was born September 12, 1960, at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip, the daughter of Jerome and Celestine (Brech) Gebes. She grew up in the Milesville area and attended school at the Hart Country School north of their home place. She graduated from Philip High School in 1978. She married Thomas James Konst on June 21, 1977. They started a family and raised four children, Nicholas, Monica, Jeremy, and Mandi. She later divorced and moved to Rapid City to live out the rest of her time, taking pride in seeing her seven grandchildren grow.

Janis is survived by her children, Nicholas Konst and his wife, Hallie, of Philip, Monica Marquez and her husband, Rod, Jeremy Konst and Mandi Konst, all of Rapid City; seven grandchildren, Shawn, Marissa, Conner, Brayden, Makayan, Chevy and Memphis; one brother, Mike Gebes and his wife, Linda, of Milesville; and a special friend, Jeff Miller, of Rapid City.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Sally Gebes.

Private family services were held and interment has taken place at Masonic the Cemetery in Philip, next to her parents.
