Helen M. Parkin
Hazel Muril Parkin, age 98 of Yreka, Calif., formerly of Wall, S.D., died May 29, 2011, in Yreka, Calif.
Hazel Williams was born May 30, 1912, at Belvidere, S.D., the daughter of Frank and Hazel Williams. The family moved to Wall when she was very young. She attended grade and high school in and near Wall, and married Howard A. Renner in 1930. Howard died in 1946.
She then married Vinton T. Parkin and joined him in Stockton, Calif. They lived in Stockton, San Jose and Ukiah, Calif., before retiring in the Roseburg, Ore., area.
Muril enjoyed gardening, camping, crafts, ranching and travelling.
Survivors include her sons, Allen Renner of Dewey, Ariz., and Dan Renner and his wife Ginger of Etna, Calif.; two sisters, Pearl Lurz of Philip, S.D., and Loy Kellem of Summerset, S.D.; two brothers, Bud Williams of Philip and Lynn Williams of Wall; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Doris Renner of Wall; her first husband, Howard Renner of Wall; a stepdaughter, Beverly Guthmiller of Freemont, Calif.; her second husband, Vinton Parkin of Roseburg, Ore.; her parents, Frank and Hazel Williams of Wall; and two brothers, Milo Williams of Faith and Dale Williams of Broadus, Mont.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the United Methodist Church in Wall.
Interment will be at the family plot in the Wall Cemetery.
