Memorial services for Helen K. Gorr of Chadron, NE, were held February 10, 2006, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Edward Cortney officiating. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery.
Vigil services were held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Thursday, February 9, 2006.
Mrs. Gorr died February 2, 2006 at Chadron. She was 88. A memorial has been established for the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Unit.

Mrs. Gorr was born April 27, 1917 in O’Neill, NE, to Harry J. and Susana Lindeken.
Helen married Donald Gorr on October 6, 1937 in Chadron.
She and husband Don lived and worked together for 65 years on their ranch northwest of Chadron (and loved living there) before moving to Prairie Pines in November of 2004.
She was known for her ability to prepare a delicious meal for anyone who stopped by. She loved her garden and flowers, playing cards with friends, travel, picnics, and most of all her family. She was the sparkplug of the family, always getting the family together for any occasion and baking birthday cakes for people.
Helen was a loving wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.
Her survivors include: her husband, Don Gorr, of Chadron; son, Lynn Gorr, and wife, Cindy, of Sammamish, WA; daughter, Karol Nyquist, and husband, Carl, of Scottsbluff; brothers, Jack Lindeken and Carl Lindeken, both of Chadron; sister, Dorothy Nixon, of Quinn, SD; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Lindeken and sister Byrdie Brecht.
