Helen Eisenbraun, age 95, Hugo, MN, formerly of Wall, SD went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Hugo Comforts of Home in Hugo.
Helen Lydia Eisenbraun was born June 12, 1914, at Creighton to Gustav and Lydia Eisenbraun. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on June 27, 1914 and reaffirmed her faith at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Creighton on April 1, 1928.
She attended 1st through 8th grade at Creighton School and completed Black Hills Commercial College's commercial course in July of 1932. She married Erhard A. Eisenbraun on February 26, 1933, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Creighton. They made their home on a farm near Creighton until April 1936 when they moved to a farm at Dalzell, SD.
In February 1940, they returned to Creighton. In March 1946, they sold their farm in Creighton and moved to Rapid City, SD. In June 1947, she moved to Wall, SD when Erhard joined his brother, Martin, in business.
She was a housewife, homemaker, showered the community with her beautifully decorated cakes, sold Avon and worked as hostess at the Cactus Café. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, gardening and cooking. She also spent numerous hours serving her Lord at First Lutheran Church where she was a member until July 1999 when she moved to Kilkenny Court in Forest Lake, MN. to be close to her daughter, LuErna.
In 2004, her health forced her to move to Hugo Comforts of Home.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wilhelm and Sylvia Eisenbraun of Bismarck, ND; daughter, LuErna Sawyer of Forest Lake, MN; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erhard; two daughters, Ila Jane Bucknall and Lynda Esquibel; her parents and siblings.
