Helen Berry, 91 of Pierre died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at St. Mary’s TCU.
Memorial services were held Saturday, March 12, at the Madison Ave. Church of Christ.
Family committal was at Riverside Cemetery following the services.
Helen Berry, daughter of Bertha and Ernest Bottke was born on January 27, 1914, at her parents’ farm in Milesville, SD. She attended school in Milesville, Redfield and Rapid City.
She married Carl Berry on June 10, 1932. Carl and Helen owned and operated several businesses, Frozen Foods and Coin operated Laundromats in Philip and Pierre. They lived in Philip, Pierre and Kerrville, TX.
Carl died on February 3, 1998, in Pierre.
Helen was an active member of the Madison Avenue Church of Christ and Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by two sons, Carl Berry Jr. and his wife, Marcie, and Douglas Berry; three daughters, Kit Curry and her husband, Monte, Margaret Edwards, and Ida Anderson and her husband, Wally; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Margaret Kennedy; and a son-in-law, Marshall Edwards.
The family has designated all memorials to her son Douglas’ mission in the Ukraine.
