Grace I. O'Reilly

Grace I. O'Reilly, age 82, formally of Chelsea, SD died on Wednesday, October 1, at the home of her daughter in Puyallup, WA. Her memorial service will be Friday, October 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield, SD. Father William Osborn will officiate. Internment will be at the Mellette Catholic Cemetery.

She was born on November 22, 1925 in Milesville, SD to George and Stella (Vandehei) LaFee. She attended school in Milesville and Philip, SD. She married M. Francis O'Reilly in Philip, SD. They had three children. Grace made her home in Chelsea for 39 years. She was a bookkeeper at the Cenex Farmers Union Oil Co. in Chelsea. After moving from Chelsea in 1992, Grace lived in Yuma, AZ for several years. In later years she lived with her daughter in Winona, MN and daughter in Puyallup, WA.

Grace loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and working in her flower and vegetable garden. She also had a passion for playing cards and putting puzzles together with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed playing Pinochle.

Grace is survived by her children James (Faye) Gianzero of St. Cloud, FL: Mary (Michael) Stargel of Puyallup, WA; and Diane (Daniel) Nolan of Winona, MN.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Walter (Neva) LaFee of Nampa, ID, and three sisters, Madge Yarnell of Medford, OR, Viola (Merle) Royer of Belle Fourche, SD, and Hazel (Jean) Kern of Plankinton, SD, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis, son Walter, four infant children, brothers Robert and Lyle LaFee and sister Arlene Forester.
