Festival Days to be held in conjunction with county fair

Philip Festival Days, scheduled for August 6-7-8, is being held this year in conjunction with the annual Haakon/Jackson County Fair.

Activities planned at the county fair include 4-H and open class exhibits, stick horse rodeo, tractor pedal pull, Kiss the Cow Contest, an ice cream social and talent show, to name a few.

The parade theme this year is “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.” There is still time to get your entry in. Contact Barb Williamson, chairperson, at 859-2588.

In addition to the parade, which starts at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, Festival Days activities include goat roping, mechanical bull rides, a dunk tank, mud bog, demolition derby, as well as street dances, beer tent, and a golf tournament.
