Evelyn Livermont, age 80, of Pierre, SD, formerly of Rapid City and Wanblee, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2004, at Mary House Nursing Home in Pierre, surrounded by her family.
Private family services were held Tuesday, October 19, at St. Mark's Cemetery in Rockyford, SD. Rush Funeral Chapel of Philip was in charge of arrangements.
Evelyn Steele was born June 12, 1924, at her family's home near Rockyford, SD, the daughter of Asa and Winnie (Shangreaux) Steel. She grew up and attended schools in Wakpala and Pine Ridge, SD.
In 1943, Evelyn married A. Francis Livermont. They ranched in the Wanblee area and raised their five sons: Alfred, Ronald, Galen, Glen, and Blaine.
Some of Evelyn's greatest joys came from spending time with her
children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Some of her favorite activities were traveling, crocheting, cooking, working with people and visiting with old as well as new friends.
She is survived by her five sons, Alfred of Wanblee, Ronald of Nome, AK, Galen and his wife, Linda, of Interior, Glen and his wife, Brenda, of Pipestone, MN, and Blaine of Pierre, as well as nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, five brothers, and two grandchildren.
She will forever be in our hearts and in our memories.
