Ercell E. Albin

Ercell E. Albin, age 92, of Parkton, MD, formerly of Belvidere, SD, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at her residence in Maryland.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m on Thursday, July 6, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, with Father Brian Sorenson officiating.

Interment will be in the Belvidere Cemetery.

Ercell Eileen Alice Riggins was born October 31, 1913, in Clement County, IA, the first of eleven children born to Floyd Cecil and Marie Elizabeth (Dugan) Riggins. Ercell was baptized November 3, 1913 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley, IA. She grew up and received her education in that area until moving with her family to Wanblee, SD, in 1932. Being the oldest girl, Ercell worked with her family to begin their home in Wanblee.

Ercell was united in marriage to Woodrow Albin on February 21, 1934, in Kadoka, SD, and to this union were born two children, Ross Lyle and Roy Wilson.

For the first month of their marriage, "Woody" and Ercell traveled, spending some time in Gordon, NE. They made their first home northeast of Wanblee. From their they moved into a log cabin near Ercell's mother and father until 1937. From 1937 to 1945, they lived on the Bear Creek southeast of Interior. In 1945 they moved to a farm-ranch near Belvidere. They lived on the farm-ranch all their married life. Her husband "Woody" preceded her in death on December 25, 1999. After her husband's death, Ercell moved to Parkton, MD, where she has since resided.

Ercell was a former member of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Belvidere, and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka.

Survivors include two sons, Ross Albin and his wife, Mabel, of Powell, WY, and Roy Albin and his wife, Rose, of Parkton, MD; three grandchildren, Roy Gene Albin, Woodrow Ross Albin, and Marcy Albin Horne; six great-grandchildren, Tori, Kayla, Devin, Ezri, Randy and Jason; two great-great-grandchildren, Raven and Brendan; two brothers, Wayne Riggins and his wife, Bonnie, of Wanblee, and J.L. "Tuffy" Riggins and his wife, Lola Joyce, of Wall; three sisters, Faye Eisenbraun of Kadoka, Valene Perault and her husband, Bud, of Belvidere, and Cloreta Eisenbraun and her husband, Marvin, of Wanblee; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, "Woody", Ercell was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Rosanne Albin and Joe Dean Albin; her parents; and five brothers, Harold, Cecil, Rex, Lynden, and Jerry Lee Riggins.
