Edna E. Piotter

Edna Emilie Piotter was born on December 30, 1907, at Pella, WI, daughter of the late Will and Annie (Yordi) Cronce. She was baptized on April 5, 1908, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pella, and confirmed at the Shawano Methodist Church in 1921.

On June 28, 1931, she married Erwin R. Piotter at the Shawano Methodist Church. They resided in Manawa and she became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in September of 1931.

Erwin and Edna were employed by, and later owners of, Piotter's General Store. They retired from there in 1969.

Edna was a member of the Women of the ELCA, and a charter member of Zion Fellowship. She was also a member of the Manawa Federated Women's Club and the Manawa Senior Citizens Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Roache of Rapid City, SD; three nieces who became part of her family following the death of their parents in an auto accident in 1945, Shirley Broadway of St. Paul, MN, Glennace Rocker of Park Forest, IL, and Joanne (Thomas) Beck of Minnesota City, MN; two nephews, Roger (Audrey) Cronce of Casa Grande, AZ, and Miles (Doreen) Cronce of Theodosia, MO; three grandchildren, Roger (Dallys) Thorson, Boyd (Gina) Thorson and Diane (Pat) Rensch; seven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Henry Seeger of Irvine, CA; a sister-in-law, Florice Germann of Walnut Creek, CA; Patricia (Lew) Cronce, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin; and two brothers.

Services were held Saturday, January 19, with Pastor Blaine Niskanen officiating. Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
