Darlene Baye retires from Philip Health Services
Darlene Baye stepped down from full-time status at Philip Health Services, Inc. as of June 9, 2006.
She is still on an on-call list if needed.
Baye started working for PHSI in December of 1970 in the kitchen.
"I'm going to catch up on what I couldn't get done before," said Baye about her retirement. One idea she has had for a long time its to go on a tour of Missouri.
The Hospital Auxiliary and the employee's TLC Committee sponsored a retirement get-together at the Philip Nursing Home dining room on Tuesday, June 19.
Baye chose that day because, coincidently, one of her sons, Steve, who lives in Nebraska, would be visiting in Philip then. Her other son, Scott, works at Philip Health Services. Baye's mother, Tillila Denke, who lives in Philip, also attended the party.
Along with family and friends, there were flowers, cake and ice cream.
Baye has been the Laundry Manager for most of her 37 years. She held off her retirement for a little while until PHSI finished its department restructuring and could find replacement help for Baye's position.
