Charles Clyde Prince was born on November 9, 1939, to H. Wayne and Mary (Doty) Prince.

On February 14, 1969, he married Carol Ann Cowan and to this union two sons were born, Charles C. Prince, Jr. and Patrick Leo Prince.

He graduated from the eighth grade in Hayes, SD. He spent all his life on the farm living in his grandparent's house. In 1962, his father, Wayne, brother, Harry, and Charles, incorporated the farm and called it Prince and Sons, Inc.

He was a hard working man but always had time to visit or help people out. It didn't matter if they were neighbors or strangers on the highway. Of course, the coffee pot was always on!

He was very proud of his children and also all of his nephews and nieces. He always wanted to know how they are doing.

He was involved in 4-H and a member of the Hayes Boaster 4-H Club. He was honored to be an alternate for South Dakota Livestock judging team at the Denver Stock Show in the '50s. He was also a life time member of the 4-Corners Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Charles and Patrick; one sister, Lois (James) McFarling of Pierre; one brother, Harry (Veona) Prince, Jr. of Ft. Pierre; two sisters-in-law, Connie Carr of Boulder, CO, and Marlene (Jerry) Schock of Ree Hights; a brother-in-law, Mike (Jean) Cowan of Pierre; 10 nephews and six nieces; two aunts, Eva Doty of Pierre and Una Mae (Floyd) Brotherton of Thompson Falls, MT.
