Charles Fredrick Jacobsen was born on April 7, 1915, to Fredrick Charles Jacobsen and Myrtle (Muhs) Jacobsen in Davenport, IA.

After completing his education at the Sansarc school, he went to veterinary school in Chicago for three years. Charles enjoyed butchering and fishing in his younger years, and spent much time enjoying the various critters that he collected over the years, yes even a heifer called Babe.

He is survived by Karen (Lee) Blasdell and family: Patty, Pam, Paula, Paul Jr., Pat and Clay; Sandra (Doug) Latzring and family: James, Darin and Darcee; Julie Deliramich and family: Karla, Richard, Hailie and Amanda; and many grandnieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, who died in the 'flu epidemic of 1917; his father, Fred, in 1972; a brother, Vernon (Bun) in 1964; two half-brothers, Ronald in 1945 and Richard "Dick" in 2000.
